KWA Construction has begun building the new 123-unit McDermott Crossing Senior Living facility in Plano, Texas. The project broke ground in late September, and KWA Construction began work on the luxury senior living facility that will include a fitness center, coffee bar, banking center, business center, library, game room, salon and theatre room. McDermott Crossing Senior Living will also feature a resort-style pool with a cabana.

“KWA Construction is thrilled to be a part of the creation of this newer, more resort- and club-style senior living,” said KWA Construction President Keller Webster. “The design of this facility is really telling of the changes and market demands within senior living, and we just can’t wait to see the finished product.”

Webster says that some of McDermott Crossing Senior Living’s key amenities, such as the wellness center, sophisticated fitness equipment and salon services, are in line with the top 2011 senior housing trends in architecture and design. McDermott Crossing Senior Living will also include an enclosed corridor building, as well as luxuries within each unit like granite countertops, large walk-in closets, full-size appliances and washer/dryer connections.

KWA Construction is working closely with Dallas-based architectural firm Archon Corporation throughout the design and build of McDermott Crossing Senior Living. The facility is scheduled for completion in September 2012.
